Margaret K. Schlesinger, Esq.
New Jersey Estate Planning Law Firm
42 Park Avenue, Madison, New Jersey 07940
What is the process?
-
Schedule a free consultation. It gives you a chance to meet me and find out if we're a good fit for each other.
-
If you want to proceed, I will ask you to sign a client engagement letter (to hire me) and a spousal conflict waiver (which allows me to represent both spouses if a married couple) via Docusign.
-
I will ask you to fill out client intake forms for me. These are done online but I can send paper copies if that is easier.
-
Once I get everything back from you, I will send you a synopsis of your estate plan via email.
-
I will write drafts of all of your documents and email them to you.
-
At this stage, I send you an invoice for 1/2 of the Estate Planning Flat Fee.
-
I give you a few days to look over everything. When you're ready we can talk through them in person, on the phone, via email, or zoom. We can make changes, answer questions, etc.
-
We schedule your signing at my office here in Madison. You can either bring your own disinterested witnesses or I can hire witnesses for $100 (fee goes directly to them).
-
I scan all of your signed documents, email you PDFs, and mail you your originals via USPS priority mail. I will always keep a digital copy too, just in case.
-
I send you an invoice for the other 1/2 of the Estate Planning Flat Fee.
-
I'm always here for follow up questions about funding, titling, etc.
